I spent last weekend in Boston exploring the city and some of the best beer bars with Bill.  Good food, good drinks, lots of laughter, and we finished our trip on a high note by photographing Chris and Rachel.

The fog and rain could not dampen Chris and Rachel's love or our engagement session.  We had a great time in Boston's Public Garden, I even got to meet Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, and Quack.

top three 2012 favorite venues https://www.megkellergalleries.com/blog/2012/2/top-three-2012-favorite-venues

The Cescaphe
I had the opportunity to check out Cescaphe (Northern Liberties) for the first time when I was asked by Colleen and John to photograph their beautiful wedding. Now, I’ve never been to Cescaphe before, but as soon as I walked into the door, I was thoroughly impressed.

After a valet took care of my vehicle, I walked in the main entrance to view this great example of a classic, timeless venue. Everything about Cescaphe says luxury: servers greet guests with champagne, raspberries suspended in the rising bubbles; an aged, floor-to-ceiling wooden bar holds a fantastic supply of liquor, wines and cordials; elegant, and plush carpeting. It’s all the right touches to allow the bride and groom to feel pampered and their guests to be wowed throughout the night.

The introduction of the bridal party started the night in one of the most amazing displays of grand entrances I have ever seen. The special couple descended the main stairwell to sparklers! That really kicked the night off - the food was amazing, the band was a blast and the dance floor was lively!

The Rittenhouse Hotel
If you want to have a venue that speaks of Downtown Philadelphia, The Rittenhouse Hotel should be one of the first places you check out. The Hotel is right across the street from Rittenhouse Square, which is perfect for formal photographs, along with romantic bride and groom shots.

Yrene and Andrew's reception took place in the Grand Ballroom. Which has beautiful hardwood floors and chandeliers galore. This venue is perfect for larger parties, because not only does it have a spacious floor plan, it has room for a huge dance floor. The party and dancing did not stop till the very end of the night! Everyone had such a great time.

Combine the location and the decor, and all you can say about this venue is "wow".

Glen Foerd Mansion
The  Glen Foerd Mansion is a hidden gem that is tucked away in Northern Philadelphia. The mansion is well taken care of, and the grounds are breath taking.

Monica's walk down the isle brought her from the mansion to meet John at the statue of Little Ugly (The statue is of  the Macalester family dog), which overlooks the Delaware River.  They chose this spot because of their own beloved dog named Kaiser, who also participated in the ceremony.

After the ceremony the party was moved into the two tiered reception setting. Dinner and toasts took place on the lower level, while the dancing took place on the upper level. This venue would be perfect for anyone that loves old architecture, beauty, class, and a touch of outdoors.

Valentines day https://www.megkellergalleries.com/blog/2012/2/valentines-day
Now, don't get me wrong; Valentines Day is super cheesy, and there are a lot people out there that hate it.  But I challenge you to embrace the cheese and do goofy things that will remind your special someone that you love them.

Here are a couple of ways that you can show your love. Please click on the link below the image to find out how to make it. (A big thanks to all the creative people that had the ideas, and shared them!)
